BMT Aerospace Achieves Nadcap Accreditation for Additive Manufacturing

Oostkamp, Belgium – 2025

BMT Aerospace International NV has successfully achieved Nadcap accreditation for Additive Manufacturing (AM). A significant milestone for our Belgium site and a strategic step in strengthening our capabilities in flight-critical component production.

The accreditation confirms that our AM processes meet industry-approved criteria for critical aerospace manufacturing, following a rigorous audit focused on process control, documentation, validation, and compliance. As a result, our facility has been added to the Nadcap Qualified Manufacturers List (QML), a global reference used by aerospace procurement teams to identify accredited suppliers.

Why This Accreditation Matters

Achieving Nadcap accreditation is a strong validation of how we operate:
methodical, precise, and safety-driven.

The Nadcap audit assessors evaluated our ability to:

  • Maintain controlled, repeatable AM processes for aerospace-grade components
  • Ensure traceability and documentation discipline at every step
  • Demonstrate process validation, from raw material to finished part
  • Uphold a robust nonconformance and corrective action system
  • Operate with audit-ready workflows built for risk reduction

As outlined in the Nadcap Promotional Handbook, this accreditation confirms compliance with industry criteria — it does not replace customer approval processes.

Strengthening Our Additive Manufacturing Capabilities

Additive Manufacturing is an increasingly important technology for:

  • Complex geometries in actuation systems
  • Lightweight structural components
  • Rapid prototyping and qualification of new concepts
  • Material efficiency and reduced lead times

Our AM team in Oostkamp has spent the last years refining the process chain in Belgium, including powder management, parameter validation, heat treatment integration, inspection methods, and detailed dimensional control.

This accreditation is the result of that long-term effort, backed by a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

A Team Effort Built on Precision and Discipline

Nadcap audits are known for their depth and rigor.
Successfully passing them requires cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Compliance.

The achievement reflects:

  • The expertise of our AM engineers
  • The discipline of our shopfloor and inspection teams
  • The robustness of our internal quality management system
  • Our commitment to safety-critical manufacturing

It’s a recognition of the people behind the process as much as the process itself.

Positioning BMT Aerospace for the Future

This accreditation strengthens our ability to support both current and upcoming aerospace programs across civil and defense applications. It also enhances our role in long-term partnerships where process reliability, compliance, and innovation matter.

With manufacturing sites in Belgium, the United States, and Romania, BMT Aerospace continues to expand its capabilities to support next-generation platforms, combining precision machining, gear technology, and now accredited Additive Manufacturing under one global footprint.

Moving Forward

The Nadcap accreditation for Additive Manufacturing is a major step in our journey to deliver advanced manufacturing technologies to our customers. It reflects how we work every day:
audit-ready, quality-driven, and always moving forth.
