F-35 Delivery in Belgium Highlights BMT Aerospace’s Role as a Long-Standing Supplier to Pratt & Whitney

Florennes, Belgium – October 13, 2025

The arrival of Belgium’s first F-35 Lightning II fighter jets marks an important milestone for the country’s defense program and underscores BMT Aerospace’s position as a long-standing supplier to Pratt & Whitney. For more than five decades, BMT Aerospace has supplied high-precision components for aircraft engines across both civil (e.g. GTF pure power engine) and defense markets (e.g. F135 fighter engine).

Decades of Expertise in the F-35 Program

Our collaboration with Pratt & Whitney includes delivering components for the F135 engine, powering all 3 variants of the F-35 Lightning II – Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). This partnership reflects our proven expertise and reliability in one of the most advanced aerospace programs in the world.

New ESI Project with Safran: Driving Innovation Through 3D Printing

During the ceremony in Florennes, a new development project was announced: a partnership between BMT Aerospace Belgium and Safran Aero Boosters, with Pratt & Whitney as the end customer. This Early Stage Innovations (ESI) project focuses on developing 3D-printed structural engine components for the F135 engine. Supported by the Belgian government, this research initiative will take time to mature—but it represents a major step toward next-generation manufacturing technologies.

Thanks to our deep knowledge of additive manufacturing, BMT Aerospace will play a key role in this project, reinforcing our position as a strategic supplier to Pratt & Whitney.

Continuing Our Core Mission

While this development project moves forward, we continue to deliver our existing components for Pratt & Whitney engines—just as we have for decades. With production facilities in Belgium, the United States, and Romania, BMT Aerospace remains committed to supporting both civil and military aviation programs worldwide.
